...Must come to an End.

Unfortunally I, Robert, will no longer actively pursue Shades of Sanity as my primary musical journey. Instead I will let Shades rest unawoken for an undetermined period of time.

The reason for this is that I've for some time joined forces with a great band called Celestial Decay , at that time playing bass. I am now a fulltime member of this union playing rythm-guitars and will no longer have the time to do both.

Thanks for the continued support through rain and sunshine, you rock!

HiSTORY:

Robert Bjärmyr and Angelo Mayer found eachother in 2004 and decided that it might be fun playing some metal music together. They started out playing accoustic guitars and singing in Robert's basement while pursuing a place for the band to grow.
In the year of 2005 they founded a band under name of Thy Holy.

Later on Håkan Olsson (Bass), a longtime friend of Angelo joined the band, giving them much more depth in the sound. During that time Angelo also sang in the band Midwinter, in which Glenn Persson (Battery) and Kristján Kristinsson (Guitars) were part of the line-up. Things did not go as expected with Midwinter so Glenn and Kristján somehow ended up playing with Robert, Angelo and Håkan.

The band was re-named Breed.

The music itself sounds alot like the "true" heavy metal from the eighties with a touch of the heavier metal sound commonly found in Gothenburg (Sweden). Any similarities to "known" bands are completely coincidental, Breed never tries to imitate any established bands just to please the crowd but rather following their own path - playing the music they enjoy the most.

After several gigs together, and countless hours of good-times, Breed recorded their second demo 'Forever Endeavour'.
Sadly, Breed had to let one of the members go shortly after recording this demo.
After being such a good friend through hard times, Håkan and Breed no longer shared a united front towards their common goal. Breed sincerly wished him all the best with future projects.

After quite some time in search for a bass-player, Lelle Falheim and Breed joines forces.
In the late 2007, the band changed the name to Shades of Sanity.

At the beginning of 2008 all of the band decided that things did not work out with Lelle and thus Shades were looking for a new bassplayer.
Our prayers got answered and we found one spaced out guy Jimmy who plays damn well and rocks hard on the stage! Hopefully this will mean a new era where the music evolves a bit more.. At this moment the only way we're worried about loosing him is in some weird accident including palm trees, coconuts and PCP-drugs.

Robert is still very much a part of Shades and perhaps forever will be. That's why he decided that there's plenty more to say in the form of music by Shades of Sanity. As you all can understand, there will not be a whole lot of touring in the next couple of months,instead work is going strong and steady to ensure that a solid foundation of music awaits the coming musicians.
